About

Angelina Velis is a Los Angeles-based editor, director, and writer. She is a second-year editing fellow at the American Film Institute Conservatory and an Avid-certified specialist.

Angelina grew up in Dallas, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Radio-Television-Film major in 2024. She was apart of the UTLA Semester in Los Angeles program in 2022 where she lived, studied, and worked in Los Angeles. Velis took on two internships at Citizen Jones and Aggregate Films.

Throughout her filmmaking journey, she has received awards and accolades for her films including Official Selection at the San Antonio Film Festival for “The Immaculate Deception” and 1st place at the Pegasus Film Festival for “Boys Will Be Boys”.

During Angelina’s first year at the AFI Conservatory, she edited five films and is currently working on her thesis film. With other AFI fellows, Angelina is working on three films currently and is in development for a script of her own. Her portfolio is available for viewing on the “Work” page.
